Yes initial model years always sell bigger than final generation model years. This is due largely to marketing blitz and the fact that many people want to be "first" to own something (status buyers included).....but to suggest that eventually every car model will become unprofitable and die if given enough time, simply isn't true...unless you never make a single revision or redesign. This was not the problem with the 300ZX.
